Rates & Insurance
We know that navigating insurance benefits can be challenging. We hope the information below will make the process a little easier.
What will therapy cost me?
What you're responsible for will depend on your plan’s in-network or out-of-network benefits. Our fees depend on the service and clinician you are seeing.
15-minute phone consultation: Complimentary
Initial session (60 minutes): $200-$275
Ongoing sessions (50 minutes): $150-$225
Group: Contact us to discuss fees.
If you're using out-of-network benefits or you're not using insurance, fees will be determined at the initial consultation call. We believe that therapy should be accessible and affordable for all and offer sliding scale availability based on financial circumstances.
Do you accept insurance?
We are in-network with Aetna and out-of-network with all other insurances. While every insurance plan is different, if you have out-of-network benefits, most patients are eligible to receive partial or full reimbursement through their insurance provider. The best way to find out about coverage is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits?
- What is the deductible and has it been met?
- When does my deductible reset each year?
- What percentage of sessions are covered and what percentage co-insurance is there, if any?
- Is there a limit on out-of-pocket expenses per year? How much? This is the maximum amount you will pay in a plan year; once you exceed this amount, your insurance will pay 100% of all healthcare expenses. This amount resets each year.
- What is the usual, customary, and reasonable fee (UCR) or the “allowed amount” for psychotherapy? This is what you should expect to be reimbursed after satisfying your deductible.
- How do I submit receipts/superbills for reimbursement?
As a courtesy to our clients, we submit claims on your behalf. For out-of-network claims, the insurance provider will mail reimbursement checks directly to you.
What is your Payment Policy?
Payment is due at the end of each session unless we agree otherwise, for example monthly. We accept check, Zelle, Venmo, FSA/HSA cards, and most major credit cards.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
Your therapist reserves time on their calendar for you each week. If you need to cancel an appointment, we require 48 hours notice. If we are unable to find a time to reschedule a makeup session within that week, we reserve the right to charge your usual fee.
Please note that insurance does not cover cancellations.
What is the Patient Rights Under the No Surprises Act?
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
